Who operates FWD
FWD is operated by Social Intelligence Labs Inc. This policy covers the FWD iPhone app, its Share extension and Siri shortcut, and the delivery service at fwd.socialintelligence.app.
Social Intelligence Labs’ general privacy policy is also available at socialintelligencelabs.com/privacy. This FWD-specific policy describes the data practices that apply to FWD.
Information FWD processes
- Inbox address. You enter an email address and confirm it with a six-digit code so FWD can deliver only to an inbox you control.
- Note content. The text, optional images, creation time, and optional location snapshot you choose to email.
- Installation identifier. FWD creates a random, app-specific identifier for the installation and sends it with verification requests to enforce security and rate limits. It is not an Apple advertising identifier.
- On-device records. Drafts, verified inbox profiles, delivery status, and the local archive.
How information is used
FWD uses this information only to verify an inbox, deliver the note you request, retry interrupted delivery, show your on-device archive, secure the service, investigate abuse, provide support, and comply with law. It is not used for advertising, cross-app tracking, profiling, sale to data brokers, or AI training.
Where information goes
Verification and note delivery travel over HTTPS through the Social Intelligence Labs delivery service hosted by Vercel and then through Resend to your receiving mail provider. These providers may process and retain operational data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Access to note content
FWD is not end-to-end encrypted. When you choose Send, you ask and authorize FWD to transmit and process the note text, attachments, and optional location in readable form for the limited purposes described in this policy. Social Intelligence Labs personnel do not routinely read notes. People with authorized administrative access at Social Intelligence Labs or its service providers may be technically able to access note content when reasonably necessary to troubleshoot delivery, investigate security or abuse, comply with law, or respond to your support request.
Storage, withdrawal, and deletion
Drafts, attachments, inbox profiles, and archive entries are stored in the app’s protected on-device container. Verified session material is stored in the iPhone Keychain and protected shared container so the Share extension can work. The Social Intelligence Labs delivery service does not log note contents or write inbox addresses, verification codes, or note bodies to an application database. Resend and receiving email providers retain information as described below.
Deleting an archive entry removes FWD’s local copy. Deleting the app removes its local app data, subject to iOS backup behavior, and stops future FWD processing on that device. You may also stop sending notes at any time to withdraw permission for future note processing. To request deletion of operational data associated with your verified inbox, contact support@whofollowsme.app; we will act to the extent available and required. These steps do not delete email already delivered to your mailbox or records your receiving email provider controls.
Location and photos
Location is off by default. FWD requests location permission only after you enable the location-footer feature and captures a location when you send. Photos are accessed only when you choose attachments. Share Sheet notes do not request location.
Security and retention
FWD uses recipient-bound signed sessions, HTTPS, iOS file protection, Keychain storage, size limits, rate limits, and stable delivery identifiers. No service can guarantee absolute security. Resend currently states that email and log data is retained for 30 days on its Free, Pro, and Scale plans. Receiving email providers retain delivered messages and related records according to their own settings and policies. Vercel, Apple, and other providers apply their own operational-retention practices.
Prior paid versions
FWD 1.1 and later is free and does not require a subscription. FWD 1.0 may ask Apple for signed StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to determine whether FWD Monthly is active. Social Intelligence Labs does not receive payment-card details.
Children
FWD is a general-purpose productivity utility and is not directed to children under 13.
